Loft Extensions and Conversions in London
Adamski Builders Ltd. specialises in loft conversions across London, transforming underused loft space into bright, functional rooms that add real value to your home. Whether you’re looking for an extra bedroom, a home office, or a master suite with an en-suite bathroom, we handle the entire project from design through to completion.

Every type of loft conversion
We’ve completed loft conversions of every major type across London, and we’ll recommend the right one for your property based on roof structure, headroom, budget, and planning constraints.
Velux (rooflight) conversions are the simplest option — no changes to the roof shape, just structural floor work, insulation, and rooflight windows. Often permitted development, meaning no planning permission required. Ideal for lofts that already have good headroom.
Dormer conversions are the most popular choice in London. A flat-roofed or pitched dormer is built out from the existing roof, dramatically increasing both headroom and floor space. Usually permitted development on the rear of the property.
Hip-to-gable conversions suit semi-detached, end-terrace, and detached properties with a hipped (sloped) side roof. The side is rebuilt vertically to the gable end, unlocking significantly more usable space. Often combined with a rear dormer.
Mansard conversions are the most transformative — the entire rear roof is rebuilt at a steep 72° angle, creating a near full-height new storey. Most common on period and terraced properties in central London. Typically requires planning permission, which we manage for you.
A full end-to-end service
One of the things that sets us apart is that we manage the entire process in-house, so you only ever deal with one company. That means:
- Initial survey and design consultation
- Architectural drawings and planning applications
- Structural engineer calculations
- Party wall agreements where required
- Building control approval and inspections
- All trades coordinated by us — carpenters, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, roofers
- Final sign-off and certification
You don’t need to separately hire an architect, find a structural engineer, or chase planning. We handle all of it. This saves our clients significant time, stress, and usually money compared to managing multiple contractors themselves.
Why a loft conversion?
A well-built loft conversion typically adds 20–25% to the value of a London home, often more for terraced properties in high-demand areas. It’s one of the most cost-effective ways to gain significant additional living space without losing any of your garden or ground floor footprint.
Most of our loft conversions are completed in 8–12 weeks, with the majority of disruptive work confined to the upper floor and roof — meaning you can usually continue living in the property throughout the build.
Our process
- Free initial consultation — we visit your property, assess the loft space, and talk through what’s possible
- Design and quote — we provide a detailed written quote and outline design
- Planning and approvals — we handle all drawings, applications, and approvals
- Build — a dedicated project manager oversees the full build from scaffolding to final finishes
- Sign-off — building control certification and handover
